Iranian movie ‘Bandar Band’ has hit online screens in Boston, Houston and Washington in the US.

 The Boston Festival of Films from Iran, which is underway online from January 22- February 7, 2021 is screening Manijeh Hekmat's award-winning film.

The event is being held in cooperation of Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art in Washington D.C. and the Department of Time and Space in Boston.

‘Bandar Band’ is a road movie that depicts flooded landscapes of Iran. The movie is filled with a genre of music that is the pop culture among the youngsters of the country.

A pregnant woman, her husband, and another musician form a three-member band are willing to attend a music contest in Tehran. The contest can change their life. But can they get to Tehran in time for the event?

Reza Koulqani, Amir-Hossein Taheri, Mahdieh Mousavi, and Pegah Ahangarani, the director’s daughter, are some of the cast members of the flick.

'Each year, film curators from the MFA; the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, work together to curate this compelling festival offering a range of perspectives by contemporary Iranian filmmakers,' the official website of Museum of Fine Arts Boston reads.
